Part 3 : Wet Side of the Andes (High Orchid/Fungal Diversity)

The main point of this trip will not just be adventure, but education. There will be nightly (optional) lectures on fungi, DNA sequencing, mushroom/plant photography, taxonomy, biogeography, habitats and plant communities, etc.
You will also be forced to sign up for an
inaturalist account & actually use it or you will be flogged.

There will be nightly moth-lights, as well.
We will gradually acclimate to very high elevations of 10,000’-13,000’
(3,000-4,000 meters).
